Chris Braswell scored 14 points and Terrence Williams added 13 points and three blocks to lead Charlotte to a 67-59 victory over Northeastern for the Great Alaska Shootout championship on Saturday night.

Darion Clark had 10 points and eight rebounds for the 49ers (6-0), who made their first appearance in the 35-year-old event. Each of the nine players that saw action for Charlotte scored.

Joel Smith had 19 points and David Walker 14 for the Huskies (4-2), who made their last Shootout visit in 1986, also finishing as runner-up.

Charlotte took an early 12-1 lead while holding Northeastern without a field goal for more than seven minutes to start the game. Northeastern made several runs throughout the game, but the 49ers had an answer each time.

Point guard Pierria Henry finished with six points for the 49ers, but added five rebounds, three assists and three steals and was named the Shootout's most outstanding player.
