Palermo put an end to Catania's four-game unbeaten run on Saturday, earning a comfortable 3-1 win at the Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Fabrizio Miccoli put the home side in front in the 10th minute, notching his fifth goal of the campaign.

Palermo's lead was extended after the restart as Josip Ilicic scored twice in the span of 12 minutes, putting his side firmly in the driver's seat with 30 minutes to go.

Francesco Lodi pulled one back for visiting Catania in the 70th minute, but it proved to be nothing than a consolation goal.

Palermo has won two of its last three to improve to 14 points, while Catania remains seventh in the table with 19 points.
