Ned Cox scored 15 points Tuesday night as Evansville opened a big halftime lead, then eased to a 62-50 victory over Tennessee Tech in nonconference play.

Cox, who led all scorers and hit three 3-pointers while dishing six assists, led the Aces (3-2) to a 33-17 halftime lead. D.J. Balentine, who came off the Evansville bench to score 11 points, hit three treys himself.

In the second half, Tennessee Tech (3-1) outscored Evansville 33-29 but that wasn't nearly enough.

The Golden Eagles were just 19 for 50 from the floor (38 percent). They hit 7 of 18 3-point attempts. Dennis Ogbe led Tennessee Tech in scoring with 10 points, and guard Lanerryl Johnson came off the bench to score 10 more.

Evansville shot nearly 50 percent from the floor, connecting on 24 of 49 shots (49 percent). The Aces also had a 31-21 rebounding edge.
