Austin Dantin threw five touchdown passes to help Toledo beat Akron 35-23 on Tuesday night in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Dantin was 29 of 35 for 327 yards with an interception for the Rockets (9-3, 6-2 Mid-American). David Pasquale caught seven passes for 110 yards and a touchdown and ran for 93 yards on 15 carries, and Alonzo Russell had nine receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns.

Dantin threw three TD passes in the second quarter — connecting with Russell on 23- and 39-yard strikes and Pasquale on a 55-yarder — to give the Rockets a 21-17 lead. In the fourth quarter, Dantin added a 2-yard scoring pass to Alex Zmolik and a 3-yarder to Justin Olack to make it 35-17.

After Toledo pulled ahead at 14-10, Akron (1-11, 0-8) briefly regained the lead on Kyle Pohl's 30-yard TD pass to Keith Sconiers. Akron opened the scoring on Robert Stein's 31-yard field goal and made it 10-0 late in the first quarter on Jawon Chisholm's 4-yard scoring run.

Pohl also threw a 3-yard TD pass to Jerrod Dillard with 3:30 left in the game.

Pohl was 28 of 42 for 213 yards with an interception.
