Stoke City earned its seventh draw in 12 league games on Monday as the Potters finished in a 1-1 deadlock with West Ham at Upton Park.

Jonathan Walters tallied the opening goal for Stoke inside of 15 minutes as he met Glenn Whelan's corner and sent a thumping shot past goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Stoke then sat back and concentrated on defending as the club was aiming to win its first away game in 15 contests.

But West Ham found the equalizer early in the second half when a cross from Gary O'Neil picked out Joey O'Brien in front of the net, and he redirected the ball past goalkeeper Asmir Begovic for his second tally as a Hammer.

The result means West Ham has lost only once in its last five games and keeps the club in seventh place.
