Jordan Reed scored 17 points and grabbed a school-record 18 rebounds as Binghamton defeated Saint Peter's 62-54 Sunday, earning its first victory considerably earlier than a year ago.

The Bobcats (1-4) lost their first 26 games last season and didn't get a victory until Feb. 21 against Vermont.

A free throw by Reed put Binghamton ahead to stay, 47-46, with 5:22 left, then he hit a jumper for a three-point lead. Alex Ogundadegbe added a free throw and layup to make it 52-46 with 4:03 left in the game, which had 14 ties and 14 lead changes.

The Peacocks (3-1) got within 57-53 on Blaise Ffrench's three-point play with 56 seconds left, but the Bearcats held them off with free throws.

Reed, a 6-foot-4 freshman guard, also had five dunks. Roland Brown added 15 points for the Bearcats.

Ffrench scored 19 points for Saint Peter's and Yvon Raymond had 12 points.
