Zach Saylor scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Central Michigan to a 76-62 win over Olivet in its home opener Friday night.

Saylor's 14 points were a career-high. Ten of those points came in the second half.

Three other Central Michigan (1-1) players finished in double figures. Point guard Chris Fowler had 12 points and seven assists, with one turnover. Kyle Randall and Blake Hibbitts had 11 points each.

Olivet was out front 9-0 early, but Central Michigan went on a 32-2 run and went on to lead at halftime, 44-20.

Garner Small had 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Comets. Matt El added 11. T.J. Vondette had 10 rebounds.

Olivet is a Division III school.
