Kendrick Perry scored 19 points to lead five starters in double figures as Youngstown beat St. Francis (Pa) 75-60 Friday night in nonconference action.

Blake Allen added 18 points on 6 of 18 shooting from behind the arc for Youngstown State (3-0). Damian Eargle scored 12 points and had three steals, while Kamren Belin and Shawn Amiker scored 11 points apiece.

Trailing 19-15 with 7:00 left in the first half, Eargle's jumper and two 3-pointers by Perry helped Youngstown outscore St. Francis (0-3) 14-5 the rest of the period. Youngstown led at halftime 29-24.

The Penguins, sparked by a layup and a jumper by Perry, and two 3-pointers by Allen, started the second half on an 18-8 run to extend the lead to 47-32.

Stephon Whyatt came off the bench to lead the Red Flash in scoring with 18 points, and Ollie Jackson chipped in with 14 points.
