Ajax forward Ryan Babel suffered a dislocated shoulder Sunday and will sidelined "several weeks," the Dutch club announced Tuesday.

The 25-year-old Babel was injured in a 3-2 win over Zwolle in the Eredivisie, and will not need surgery, but is now set to miss the crucial Champions League fixture against Borussia Dortmund on Nov. 21 in Amsterdam as he recovers.

Ajax is third in Group D on four points, three behind second-place Real Madrid and four behind first-place Dortmund. Only the top two clubs advance to the knockout stage, although the third-place team drops into the Europa League.

The Dutch side will visit Real Madrid for its final group match Dec. 4.
