Louisville running back Senorise Perry will miss the rest of the season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament during the Cardinals' 45-26 loss to Syracuse on Saturday.

Perry rushed for 705 yards and 11 touchdowns this season for Louisville, which fell to 9-1 on Saturday.

"He didn't take the news very well. He was having a great season, so he was disappointed," Louisville coach Charlie Strong said on Monday.

Jeremy Wright will take most of the carries with Perry out. For the season, Wright has 680 rushing yards and nine touchdowns to go along with 193 receiving yards on 24 catches.

"I think we'll be okay in the running game," Strong said. "Senorise was a big part of our offense, but Jeremy Wright will take more of the load."

Louisville is off this week and next plays Connecticut on Nov. 24.
