Clarence Trent scored 18 points Sunday night, leading four Seattle players in double figures, and the Redhawks won their season opener, defeating Montana State 87-72.

Trent also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds in his 21 minutes of play. Deshaun Sunderhaus had 14 points and eight rebounds, Chad Rasmussen scored 12 and Prince Obasi added 10 points for the Redhawks, who never trailed and led 39-24 at the half. Seattle, which played as an independent last season, is now in the Western Athletic Conference.

Montana State, of the Big Sky Conference, also had four players score in double figures. Antonio Biglow scored 15 points, Paul Egwuonwu had 13 points and 10 rebounds, Flavien Davis scored 12 points and Calen Coleman scored 10 for the Bobcats, also playing their first game of the season.
