Ricky Lewis ran in a go-ahead touchdown with 7:54 to play, and North Carolina A&T came back to beat South Carolina State 17-7 Saturday in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action.

Lewis' 34-yard score came amid 17 unanswered, second-half points for the Aggies (6-4, 4-3), who overcame a 7-0 halftime deficit. Lewis finished with 82 yards on 15 carries; teammate Mike Mayhew ran 22 times 141 yards.

The Bulldogs (4-6, 3-4) jumped to the early advantage when Jakar Hamilton returned the opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown. The points were the last for South Carolina State, which managed just eight first downs and 166 yards of total offense. Richard Cue struggled, going 8-of-25 passing for 79 yards.

North Carolina A&T didn't fare much better through the air, managing just 151 passing yards and throwing two interceptions, but ran for 250 yards with nearly a 15-minute advantage in time of possession.
