Patrick Konan scored 16 points to lead five New Hampshire players in double figures as the Wildcats opened their season with a 91-51 victory Saturday over Division III opponent Suffolk, which counted the game as an exhibition.

Konan scored 10 of his points in the first half, when New Hampshire shot 60 percent (21 of 35) and breezed to a 54-23 lead over the Rams, who made 25 percent (7 of 28).

Ferg Myrick scored 11 of his 14 points for New Hampshire in the first half. Chris Pelcher also finished with 14, Scott Moris had 13 and Chris Matagrano 10.

Chris Torres led Suffolk with 12 points. Matt Pepdjonovic led all rebounders with 17, but he made just 1 of 10 shots for the Rams.
