McKinney, TX – James Hahn fired a 7-under-par 64 on Saturday to grab a share of the lead after three rounds of the season- ending Web.com Tour Championship.
Hahn and Justin Hicks (67) are knotted at 12-under 201 -- two stokes ahead of Justin Bolli (67).
The top 60 players are in the field this week, but only the top 25 on the money list at the tournament's conclusion will earn PGA Tour cards for 2013.
Hicks, who has already secured his PGA card for next season, has now held or shared the lead after all three rounds of this event. At No. 11 on the money list, he is still seeking his first Web.com Tour win of the year despite producing nine top-10 finishes and 13 top-25 results.
Like Hicks, Hahn, who is No. 13 on the money list, has already wrapped up a 2013 PGA Tour card, but that didn't stop him from firing the low round of the day on Saturday.
"I could care less about the money," said Hahn. "It's all about taking home a trophy. I believe it would be contagious and it would be nice to take home some hardware and just build on it."
Hicks birdied No. 13 and 14 to take a 1-stroke lead over Hahn, but he quickly relinquished the advantage when his short par put failed to drop on the 15th.
Hahn took advantage with a birdie on the par-3 17th to briefly go on top before Hicks responded with a birdie on the last to pull even.
"Tomorrow is my birthday," said Hicks. "I've got my family out, so it's a good week regardless."
Bolli is alone in third for the tourney, while Michael Putnam (67) is one stroke back in fourth place. The former is 44th on the earnings list and the latter is 30th, meaning both golfers will need to turn in a strong performance on Sunday stay in the running for a PGA card.
Russell Henley, No. 3 in the rankings, is hitting his stride at the ideal moment, having won two of his last three tournaments -- the Chiquita Classic and the Jacksonville Open. He recorded a third-round 68 to move into a fifth- place tie with money-list No. 2 Luke Guthrie and Cliff Kresge at 8-under.
Earnings leader Casey Wittenberg carded a 67 -- his best round of the weekend. He is tied for eighth place with Edward Loar and Adam Hadwin at 7- under.
Kresge (38), Loar (46) and Hadwin (48) are all outside the top-25.
Also on the outside looking in is No. 26 Doug LaBelle II, who carded a 68 on Saturday to sit a 4-under -- good for a 19th-place tie.
Camilo Benedetti, ranked No. 25, is 2-under.
The Web.com Tour Championship offers the largest purse of the season at $1 million; affording PGA hopefuls a significant opportunity to improve their money-list standings.
First place for the tournament garners $180,000, second place takes home $108,000 and third place earns $68,000.
NOTES: Tag Ridings, No. 51 on the money list, held a share of the first-round lead, but shot 73 on Friday and 69 on Saturday to fall into a tie for 11th place at 6-under...Every winner this season on the Web.com Tour is in the field this week. Wittenberg, Guthrie, Henley, Shawn Stefani and Ben Kohles are the only players with two tour wins this season.
