The Portland Trail Blazers have waived five players, including forward Adam Morrison, to reach the roster limit of 15 for the start of the 2012-13 season.

Morrison averaged 3.2 points and 1.4 rebounds in five preseason games for the Blazers, who signed the former first-round pick last month. He was selected by Charlotte with the third overall pick of the 2006 draft and was a Second-Team All-Rookie selection after averaging 11.8 points in 78 games during the 2006-07 season.

The former Gonzaga star saw his playing time diminish in his second year and was traded to the Lakers in February 2009. He hasn't played a regular-season NBA game since the 2009-10 campaign, and has averaged 7.5 points with 2.1 rebounds in four seasons with the Bobcats and Lakers.

In addition to Morrison, the Blazers also waived forward Dallas Lauderdale and guards Demonte Harper, Coby Karl and Justin Holiday.
