Eddy Curry waived by Spurs

San Antonio, TX – The San Antonio Spurs waived center Eddy Curry on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old Curry joined the Spurs on Oct. 1 and averaged 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in five preseason games.

Selected fourth overall by Chicago in the 2001 NBA Draft, Curry has averaged 13.0 points and 5.2 rebounds in 525 career games with the Bulls, Knicks and Heat.

The Spurs also waived forward Derrick Brown.
