Philadelphia, PA – PGA TOUR - THE MCGLADREY CLASSIC, Seaside Course, Sea Island, Georgia -- The PGA Tour heads back east for the third of four Fall Series events, The McGladrey Classic.
This is the third year of the event and local residents Davis Love III and Zach Johnson are among the hosts.
Last year, Ben Crane fired a 7-under 63 in the final round to tie Webb Simpson at 15-under 265. Simpson, this year's U.S. Open champion, posted a 66 in the final round to join Crane in the playoff.
Michael Thompson stumbled to a bogey at the last to cost himself a spot in the extra session.
Crane and Simpson headed back to the 18th for the playoff. Simpson got up and down for par from a greenside bunker, while Crane had a birdie effort lip out. He tapped in for par, and they shifted to No. 17.
Simpson failed to convert his 35-foot birdie effort, while Crane's 22-footer also stayed above ground. Crane knocked in his par effort, but Simpson missed a 3-foot par try to give Crane his fourth PGA Tour title.
Crane has struggled of late, but he had started the season with three top-10 finishes in his first four events. However, he has just one top-10 since.
Simpson earned his first major championship earlier this year, and has six other top-10 finishes this season. His last came at the Tour Championship, where he shared fifth.
The first two years, the winning score has been 14- and 15-under par, so low scores will be needed to contend.

The PGA Tour heads to Asia next week for the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic, where Bo Van Pelt cruised to a 6-stroke win over Jeff Overton last year.
EUROPEAN TOUR
ISPS HANDA PERTH INTERNATIONAL, Lake Karrinyup Country Club, Perth, Western Australia -- The European Tour goes to Australia this week for the ISPS Handa Perth International.
This is a new event on the tour's international schedule and will be headlined by some big names including 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, Jason Dufner, Paul Casey and Edoardo Molinari.
Dufner is making his first European Tour start outside the majors and the World Golf Championships since the 2009 JB Were Masters.
Golf Channel will have overnight coverage all week.
The European Tour moves to Shanghai next week for another new event, the BMW Masters.
LPGA TOUR
LPGA KEB - HANABANK CHAMPIONSHIP, Sky 72 Golf Club (Ocean Course), Incheon, South Korea -- The Asian swing continues for the LPGA Tour this week in South Korea.
World No. 1 Yani Tseng will defend her title this week on the Ocean Course at Sky 72 Golf Club.
Tseng closed with a 67 last year to hold off 2010 champion Na Yeon Choi by a single stroke. The victory was Tseng's sixth of the 2011 season and the 11th of her tour career.
Choi closed with a 71 last week to finish second in her title defense at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia. Choi beat Tseng at that event last year the week after Tseng bested Choi at the HanaBank Championship.
After starting the season with eight consecutive top-10s, including three victories, Tseng hasn't had a top-10 since a quarterfinal loss at the Sybase Match Play.
Tseng missed three cuts in a 4-event span in the middle of the summer. After opening with a 6-under 66 at the Canadian Women's Open, Tseng has gone 11 consecutive rounds without breaking par.

The LPGA Tour moves to Taiwan next week for the Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship. Tseng, a Taiwan native, won the title by five strokes last year,
WEB.COM TOUR
WINN-DIXIE JACKSONVILLE OPEN, Dye's Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida -- The Web.com Tour's final full-field event of the year takes place this week with Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open.
The event will be on the Dye's Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass.
Last year, Australian Gavin Coles fired a 6-under 64 in the second round, then shot even-par over the final two rounds to hang on for a 1-stroke win over Jonas Blixt.
For Coles, it was his fifth Web.com Tour title. He has spent most of the year on the PGA Tour, but has made just 11 of 21 cuts. Coles played three Web.com Tour events and played the weekend once in those three.
Golf Channel will have tape-delayed coverage all four days this week.
The final event of the season is next week as the tour goes to Texas for the Web.com Tour Championship. Ken Duke won that title last year and in doing so jumped into the top 25 on the money list to earn his PGA Tour card for this season.
