Donaire downs Nishioka to retain belts

Carson, CA – Nonito Donaire stopped Toshiaki Nishioka in the ninth round on Saturday to retain his IBF and WBO junior featherweight belts on Saturday.

Donaire (30-1, 19 KOs) knocked Nishioka (39-5-3, 9 KOs) down in the sixth round then put him to the mat again in the ninth before referee Raul Caiz stopped the fight moments later.
