Indianapolis, IN – Indianapolis Colts linebacker Robert Mathis is expected to miss the next 2-3 weeks with a knee injury, defensive coordinator Greg Manusky confirmed Thursday.
"It would have been great to have him up this week," Manusky said after Thursday's practice. "The next guy's got to stand up and go out there and perform at a high level."
The four-time Pro Bowler, who leads the Colts with five sacks this season, injured his knee late in the Colts' 30-27 victory over Green Bay on Sunday.
Mathis is the second Colts' player in as many days to be sidelined with a knee injury after interim coach Bruce Arians announced Wednesday that running back Donald Brown will miss the next 2-3 weeks due to knee surgery.
Fellow linebacker Dwight Freeney (knee) was a full participant in practice Thursday after sitting out the previous day, while cornerback Vontae Davis (ankle) and linebacker Pat Angerer (foot) each missed the last two practice sessions.
