Darren Bent made the most of a substitute appearance at Villa Park on Sunday, bagging the equalizer 10 minutes from time in Aston Villa's 1-1 draw with West Bromwich.

Shane Long opened the scoring five minutes after the halftime break when he arrived at the back post to turn in a low cross played in front of goal.

The Villans pushed for an equalizer and ultimately were rewarded for their perseverance when Bent, who entered the match in the 69th minute, stuffed home a loose ball in the box on the half-volley.

It was the second consecutive draw for both sides. West Brom improves to 11 points on the season, leaving the Baggies five points adrift of top spot in England's top flight. Villa improves to five points on the year.
