The Los Angeles Clippers announced Thursday that the club has exercised the fourth-year option on the contract of guard Eric Bledsoe.

In his second pro season, the 22-year-old Birmingham native totaled 3.3 points, 1.6 assists and 1.6 rebounds in 40 games last year, a season hampered by recovery from surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.

A former first-round pick of the Thunder in 2010, Bledsoe, a Kentucky product has averaged 5.6 points, 2.4 boards and 2.9 assists in 121 games for the Clippers.
