Barcelona, Spain – Barcelona defender Gerard Pique is expected to miss two to three weeks after picking up an injury to his left foot in the 11th minute of the club's 3-2 victory over Spartak Moscow on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old was subbed off following a challenge from Spartak midfielder Romulo, with Alex Song taking his place.
Pique's injury leaves Barcelona very thin in the center of defense as Carles Puyol sustained a knee injury in the club's defeat of Getafe at the weekend and should be sidelined between four and six weeks.
