Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush, Houston defensive end J.J. Watt and Cincinnati return specialist Adam Jones have been selected as the AFC's top players for Week 2 of the NFL season.

Bush earned the offensive award for the third time in his career after rushing for 172 yards on a career-high 26 carries with a pair of touchdowns in Miami's 35-13 victory over Oakland. He broke the game open in the third quarter with touchdowns of 23 yards and 65 yards on consecutive Miami possessions.

Watt was chosen for the defensive honor for the first time after registering five tackles, 1 1/2 sacks and a fumble recovery in Houston's 27-7 thumping of Jacksonville. He helped the Texans limit the Jaguars to a meager 117 yards of total offense.

Jones returned three punts for 90 yards, including an 81-yard touchdown, in Cincinnati's 34-27 win over Cleveland to garner the special teams award for the second time. He added one kickoff return for 31 yards.

Others nominated for the offensive honor included Buffalo running back C.J. Spiller, who ran for 123 yards with two touchdowns on just 15 carries in a 35-17 win over Kansas City; San Diego tight end Dante Rosario, who caught three TD passes in a 38-10 rout of Tennessee; and Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who threw for 275 yards with a pair of touchdowns in a 27-10 victory over the New York Jets.

Defensive consideration also went to Indianapolis linebacker Jerrell Freeman, who posted 13 tackles with one sack and a forced fumble in a 23-20 win over Minnesota, and Cleveland linebacker D'Qwell Jackson, who notched five tackles, three sacks and one interception in the loss to Cincinnati.

Also nominated for the special teams award was Buffalo returner Leodis McKelvin for his 88-yard punt return for a touchdown against the Chiefs.
