Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw will miss Sunday's start in the series finale against St. Louis due to continued pain in his right hip.

Kershaw will travel to New York to see specialist Dr. Bryan Kelly, Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly stated. Kelly is an associate team physician of the NFL's New York Giants and consultant for the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA. He is a specialist in hip arthroscopy.

Mattingly said that rookie Stephen Fife will pitch on Sunday in the finale which will see the winner occupy the final wild card spot in the National League.

Kershaw pitched on Tuesday against Arizona after sitting two days with pain in the hip. He had been scheduled to pitch on Sunday in San Francisco.

On the season, the 24-year-old is 12-9 with a 2.70 earned run average in 30 starts.
