Dale Earnhardt Jr., one of nine drivers participating in a Goodyear tire test at Kansas Speedway Wednesday, crashed his Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet into the outside wall.

Earnhardt Jr. was not hurt.

His car apparently blew a right-front tire about 20 laps into a test run, sending the car into the wall.

Wednesday’s runs were on the second day of testing at Kansas, where the track has been repaved and reconfigured since the Sprint Cup Series raced there in April.

The sixth race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup is scheduled at the 1.5-mile track Oct. 21.
