The New Orleans Saints terminated the contracts of veteran defensive tackle Remi Ayodele and quarterback Luke McCown on Monday, part of a spate of roster cuts to reach the 75-player limit.

Ayodele spent last season with the Vikings, totaling 15 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks in 16 games. The Saints provided him with a one-year contract in early May.

McCown was also given a one-year deal, but in early June. He spent the past three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, primarily as a back up to David Garrard and Blaine Gabbert. He appeared in eight games with the Jags completing 42 passes for 418 yards and no touchdowns.

The Louisiana Tech product has appeared in 20 NFL games completing 58.2 percent of his passes for 2,035 yards and nine touchdowns.

In addition, the Saints waived linebacker Aaron Tevis, center Brian Folkerts, tight end Jake Byrne, safety Johnny Thomas, wide receivers Marques Clark and Derek Moye, guard Paul Fenaroli, tackle Hutch Eckerson, defensive end Donavan Robinson, wide receiver Kevin Hardy, cornerbacks Kamaal McIlwain and Cord Parks and defensive tackle Swanson Miller.
