The Cleveland Indians announced Tuesday that pitcher Josh Tomlin will undergo season-ending surgery on Wednesday.

Tomlin will have Tommy John surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow in Anaheim, CA. Dr. Lewis Yocum will perform the procedure.

The right-hander was shelled for seven runs on five hits and two walks over 1 1/3 innings in his last outing on Aug. 12 against the Boston Red Sox.

Over 21 games, including 16 starts, this season, Tomlin has pitched to a 5-8 record with a 6.36 earned run average.
