St. Louis, MO – The Arizona Diamondbacks placed pitcher Takashi Saito on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a strained left hamstring.
Saito, 42, appeared in 10 games for the D'backs this season and pitched to a 6.14 earned run average with no record.
To fill Saito's roster spot, the team selected the contract of pitcher Mike Zagurski from Triple-A Reno. The 29-year-old lefty had no record and a 6.18 ERA in 32 games with Arizona this season.
