Gerardo Rodriguez converted a penalty kick in the second half and Toluca remained perfect in the Apertura with a 2-1 win over UNAM on Sunday at Estadio Olimpico Universitario.

Juan Cacho gave Toluca the early lead on the road with a goal just 12 minutes into the match, but Luis Garcia equalized seven minutes before half for UNAM.

Rodriguez secured full points and the fourth win from as many games early this season when he scored from the spot on the hour mark.

Toluca is the only side perfect after four matches. UNAM lost its second match of the season against two wins.

Also Sunday, Mariano Pavone scored as Cruz Azul remained undefeated with a 1-0 win at 10-man Puebla, while Morelia had to settle for its third draw in four matches as the club allowed 10-man Guadalajara to score in the final 10 minutes to claim a 1-1 draw.

On Saturday, America and Atlas tied 1-1 as both sides remained unbeaten with a win and three draws this season, Juninho scored in the 79th as Tigres remained unbeaten with a 2-2 tie against Queretaro, San Luis stayed winless after a 1-1 draw against Monterrey, and Pachuca tied Tijuana, 2-2.

On Friday, Leon won for the third time in four matches, 3-0, over Santos, and sits in second place, while Esteban Paredes scored a brace as Atlante won its first of the season and handed Jaguares its fourth loss, 2-1.
