Detoured: Padres place Street on DL

The San Diego Padres placed closer Huston Street on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a strained left calf muscle.

Street, who was on the DL with the ailment last season, has gone 0-3 with 11 saves in 12 opportunities, a 4.43 ERA in 21 appearances this year. He has 34 saves in 36 chances since being acquired by the Padres prior to last season.

The Padres also recalled left-handed pitchers Robbie Erlin and Tommy Layne from Triple-A Tucson and optioned right-hander Nick Vincent to Tucson.
