Brazilian boxer Yamaguchi Falcao Florentino upset the top seed in the men's light heavyweight class Wednesday at the London Games.

Falcao Florentino won an 18-15 decision over Cuba's Julio la Cruz Peraza in the quarterfinals. That set up a semifinal matchup between the Brazilian and Egor Mekhontcev of Russia. Mekhontcev defeated Uzbekistan's Elshod Rasulov on Wednesday.

The other light heavyweight semifinal bout will pit Adilbek Niyazymbetov of Kazakhstan against the Ukraine's Oleksandr Gvozdyk.

Zou Shiming of China and Cuba's Roniel Iglesias Sotolongo also earned trips to the semifinals in their respective weight classes.

Zou, the top seed in the light flyweight division, won a 13-10 decision over Birzhan Zhakypov of Kazakhstan to reach the semis, where he'll face Paddy Barnes of Ireland. Barnes posted a 23-18 win over India's Devendro Singh Laishram.

David Ayrapetyan of Russia and Thailand's Kaeo Pongprayoon will meet in the other flyweight semifinal. The Russian beat Turkey's Ferhat Pehlivan, while Pongprayoon ousted Bulgarian Aleksandar Aleksandrov.

Iglesias Sotolongo defeated Uzbekistan's Uktamjon Rahmonov and will face Vincenzo Mangiacapre of Italy in the semifinals of the light welterweight division. Also, Mongolia's Munk-Erdene Uranchimeg will take on second-seeded Denys Berinchyk of the Ukraine in the next round.
