Brazil improved to 3-0 in the women's handball tournament Wednesday at the London Games, easily defeating Great Britain in Group A play.

The Brazilians, who finished ninth at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, posted a 30-17 win over the British, dropping the host nation to 0-3 in the tournament. The victory secured a berth in the knockout stage for Brazil, which will play Russia on Friday to determine the Group B winner.

Russia, the silver medalists in Beijing, fell to 2-1 after dropping a 30-28 decision to Croatia on Wednesday, but also earned a trip to the knockout round due to Brazil's win. Montenegro will also be in the next round and posted a 30-25 win over Angola at the Copper Box.

Defending gold medalists Norway is 1-1-1 in Group B action after tying Korea, 27-27 on Wednesday, but has earned a spot in the knockout phase. The Koreans are tied with France atop Group B with a 2-0-1 record and the countries will face each other on Friday.

France beat Sweden, 29-17, on Wednesday, while Spain picked up its first win of the competition with a 24-21 victory over Denmark.
