The Colorado Rockies activated infielder Jonathan Herrera off the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.

Herrera. 27, missed 11 games while on the DL due to an infection in his left wrist. Prior to the injury, he hit .246 with six doubles, one triple, three home runs and six RBI in 45 games for the Rockies.

To make room for Herrera on the roster, the Rockies optioned infielder Tommy Field to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Field, 25, was recalled on Saturday to take the spot of Marco Scutaro, who was traded to the San Francisco Giants. In two games with the major league club this season, Field went 0-for-2 with a walk.
