Angola needed a bit of a miracle run just to get into the London 2012 Olympics, so a game against the United States isn't exactly a fair matchup or a measuring stick for either team. The U.S. women completely overpowered Angola to the surprise of no one, comfortably winning 90-38.

The first quarter and the very beginning of the second quarter did not feature the United States on top of their game, as they struggled offensively, but they did an excellent job of creating turnovers, turning defense into offense frequently during the latter part of the second quarter. Angola only managed to score six points in the second quarter and the U.S. women took a 41-18 lead into halftime.

Angola couldn't put up any more of a challenge in the second half as the United States steadily increased their lead in a complete rout. Candace Parker was Team USA's best player with 14 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks. The United States was very good as a whole inside and from mid-range, but they struggled from behind the arc, shooting just 2-18.
