The Texas Rangers reinstated first baseman/outfielder Mitch Moreland from the 15-day disabled list on Monday.

Moreland had been sidelined with a left hamstring strain, an injury he sustained while running out a ground ball on June 19 at San Diego.

Prior to his DL stint, Moreland was hitting .272 this season with 10 home runs and 25 RBI.

The Rangers optioned outfielder Leonys Martin to Triple-A Round Rock to clear a roster spot for Moreland. Martin saw action in 15 games with Texas, going 7- for-37 at the plate.
