Jin Jong-oh took silver medals in the men's 10m and 50m air pistol competitions at the 2008 Summer Olympics. In London, he's already aimed higher — and hit his target.

Jin won the gold medal in the men's 10m air pistol on Saturday morning in London, holding off Italian Luca Tesconi to hold on to his first gold medal. Jin, the world-record holder in qualification for the event, qualified first for the final, and built a sizable lead midway through the final. But it wasn't until he notched a 10.8 in his final effort of the final, relegating Tesconi to silver after the Italian had cut Jin's lead to 1.8 points.

Andrija Zlatic of Serbia took bronze, edging out reigning Olympic champion Pang Wei of China. Wei had qualified second for the final behind Jin, but did not perform to his usual standards in that final round.

No Americans made the final. The highest American finisher in the event was Daryl Szarenski, who finished the qualification round tied for 22nd.
