The New Orleans Saints have extended the contract of punter Thomas Morstead for six years, making it an overall seven- year deal.

"Y'all are stuck with me for the next 7 years, I am humbled, honored and blessed to be here... Thanks for all your love," Morstead said via Twitter.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports the deal is worth a maximum of $21.9 million.

Morstead, a fifth-round draft pick by the Saints in 2009, has not missed a game over his first three seasons. Last year, he averaged 48.3 yards per punt and led the NFL with 68 touchbacks on kickoffs, which is a single-season record.
