Twins place Swarzak on DL

The Minnesota Twins placed pitcher Anthony Swarzak on the 15-day disabled list with a mild right rotator cuff strain.

Swarzak, who is 2-4 with a 4.43 earned run average in 31 games (4 starts) this season, will be replaced on the roster by right-handed pitcher Luis Perdomo. His contract will be selected from Triple-A Rochester.

The Twins also announced they will transfer pitcher Carl Pavano to the 60-day disabled list. He's been out since early June due to a right anterior capsular strain.
