The French Athletics Federation says marathon runner Christelle Daunay has pulled out of the London Olympics because of a foot injury.

Daunay was due to run on Aug. 5, but medical tests revealed a crack on the second toe of her left foot.

The FFA says that Daunay, who finished second in the Paris Marathon in 2010 and represented France at the 2008 Olympics, needs to rest for two months.

The 37-year-old Daunay says "it's hard to take" but "I will be the first person to support the French Olympic team, and in particular my athletics colleagues."
