Preds avoid arbitration with Kostitsyn

The Nashville Predators avoided arbitration with restricted free agent forward Sergei Kostitsyn on Monday, signing him to a $6 million deal over two years.

Kostitsyn had been signed to a one-year contract worth $2.5 million last July.

The 25-year-old winger totaled 17 goals and 43 points in 75 regular-season games, adding a goal and one assist in 10 playoff appearances for Nashville in 2011-12.

A native of Belarus, Kostitsyn has compiled 64 goals and 97 assists in 307 career games with the Canadiens and Predators since 2007.
