Justin Lofton will start on the pole for Saturday night's American Ethanol 225 Camping World Truck Series race after posting the quickest lap in qualifying at Chicagoland Speedway.

Lofton turned a lap at 174.154 mph to win his first pole in 60 Truck Series starts. He started first in the June race at Texas since qualifying there was rained out and the field determined by owner points. His previous best qualifying effort was second in May at Charlotte, where he ended up claiming his first race victory in the series.

Joey Coulter secured the outside pole with a lap at 173.997 mph, while his Richard Childress Racing teammate, Ty Dillon, qualified third. Timothy Peters, the current points leader, and Jason Leffler rounded out the top-five.

Peters holds a 12-point advantage over Lofton, while Dillon is 14 points behind.

Mike Harmon and Chris Lafferty failed to qualify for the 225-mile race at Chicagoland Speedway, which is scheduled to start just after 8 p.m. (ET).
