Washington, DC – The Atlanta Braves activated pitcher Jonny Venters from the 15-day disabled list and placed outfielder Matt Diaz on the disabled list.
Venters was placed on the DL on July 5 due to a left elbow impingement. The left-hander sports a 3-3 record with a 4.45 earned run average this season.
Diaz lands on the 15-day disabled list with a right thumb contusion. He is batting .222 with two homers and 13 RBI in 51 games this year.
