The Toronto Blue Jays transferred pitcher Luis Perez from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day DL and selected the contract of Aaron Loup from Double-A New Hampshire on Friday.

Perez tore his ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow in the seventh inning of the Blue Jays 11-9 win over the White Sox on July 8 and was placed on the 15-day disabled.

The 27-year-old Perez is scheduled to visit Dr, James Andrews this weekend and is expected to undergo Tommy John surgery.

Perez has made 35 relief appearances for the Blue Jays this season, pitching to a 2-2 record with a 3.43 earned run average.

Loup appeared in 37 games in the minors this season, posting an 0-3 record with a 2.78 ERA.
