Plata, Soolsma leave Toronto FC

Toronto, ON – Toronto FC announced Wednesday that Joao Plata has been loaned to LDU Quito and Nick Soolsma has departed the club.

Plata will join the Ecuadorian club for six months, at which point it is anticipated that he will return to Toronto for the 2013 MLS season.

Soolsma's contract was terminated by mutual consent. The 24-year-old made 32 league appearances during his tenure with the Reds, scoring three goals and adding seven assists.
