Sophia Young scored a game-high 18 points to help the San Antonio Silver Stars fend off a late rally in a 78-73 victory over the Washington Mystics.

Young added five rebounds and five assists for the Silver Stars, who have won six in a row to surge into a tie for second place in the Western Conference. Becky Hammon added 17 points, while Danielle Robinson had 12 in the victory.

Monique Curry scored 15 points to lead the Mystics, who are an East-worst 3-11 this season. Crystal Langhorne had 13 points, and Michelle Snow contributed 11 points in defeat.

The Silver Stars used a 22-12 advantage in the third quarter to take a 12- point lead into the fourth, which proved to be too much for Washington to overcome in the final seconds. The Mystics got within four in the final seconds, but it was too late.
