Raptors eye Knicks G Fields

New York Knicks restricted free agent guard Landry Fields has verbally agreed to sign an offer sheet with the Toronto Raptors, according to multiple reports.

Fields can sign the offer on July 11, when the NBA lifts the free agency signing moratorium and the Knicks have three days to match.

The Toronto Star reports the Raptors would offer Fields a three-year contract worth about $20 million. The deal is expected to pay Fields about $5 million in each of the first two years and $9 million in the last year.

Last season, Fields averaged 8.8 points and 4.2 rebounds without missing a game.

Multiple reports also indicate the Raptors are seriously interested in wooing veteran point guard Steve Nash. The Canadian, an eight-time All-Star and two- time league MVP, is an unrestricted free agent after spending the previous eight seasons with Phoenix.
