New York, NY – Portland Timbers defender Hanyer Mosquera was suspended three matches by Major League Soccer on Friday night and fined for violent conduct in a recent match against the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Mosquera hit Galaxy forward Jack McBean in the 94th minute of a match on June 17. The MLS Disciplinary Committee determined the punishment and undisclosed fine, adding Mosquera "endangered McBean's safety."
His suspension will start Sunday when Portland hosts Seattle Sounders FC.
