Blue Jays recall pitcher Chavez to start Tuesday

Milwaukee, WI – The Toronto Blue Jays recalled pitcher Jesse Chavez from Triple-A Las Vegas and optioned pitcher Evan Crawford to Las Vegas on Monday.

Chavez, who is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays, is 7-2 with a 3.84 earned run average with Las Vegas this season. In one relief appearance with Toronto, he allowed three runs in five innings.

Crawford has appeared in nine games for the Blue Jays this season, and has given up six runs in 7 2/3 innings.
