The New England Patriots signed tight end Bo Scaife on Thursday.

A sixth-round pick by Tennessee in the 2005 draft, Scaife played 90 games for the Titans over the next six seasons, recording 251 receptions for 2,383 yards and 12 touchdowns.

He then signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent prior to last season, but was forced to sit out the entire year with a neck injury.

New England also released defensive lineman Markell Carter, tight end Nick Melillo and offensive lineman Jon Opperud on Thursday.
