The Arizona Cardinals re-signed veteran linebacker Clark Haggans to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Haggans, a 12-year pro, spent the last four seasons with the Cardinals. He started all 16 games in 2011, finishing with 54 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble.

A fifth-round draft pick in 2000, Haggans spent the first eight years of his career in Pittsburgh, where he recorded 298 tackles and 32 1/2 sacks in 108 games -- 61 starts.

To clear room on the roster, the Cardinals released undrafted rookie linebacker Broderick Binns.
